He has again tested for developmental delays, this time with a rather large delay in communication. He scored a 10, whereas a normal score would be a 35. His other areas were in the "gray" also, which basically means that he should probably be checked out but not an immediate cause for serious concern. As far as not crawling or other gross motor skills, Josh has the physical capability and muscle tone to do it, he just doesn't have the mental capacity yet to know what to do. A good example of this is that we can stand him up against the couch and he is capable of standing for a while, but he doesn't get that he needs to hang on to keep from falling down.
Of course it's naturally a little disappointing and concerning for us to hear that he may be delayed, but our doctor isn't overly concerned about it, so we're not going to stress about it. We will know more next week when Josh will get additional screening from a local company that specializes in therapy and testing for delays. He still remains a sweet, mellow and calm little boy and we love him so much!
In other news, here are some recent pictures of the boy. Here, he has discovered some laminated cards Grandma Sharon had made for us. They were all rubber-banded together, but Josh figured that one out real quick.
