Big Boy Bed
We got a toddler bed for Josh and he's adjusting to it pretty well. He takes all his naps in it right now, but still sleeps in the crib at night. We decided to wait a little longer for that transition, since we just completed the great binkie purge. Didn't want to throw too many changes at the kid at once.

Josh has developed the habit of covering his eyes with his blanket whenever he goes to sleep. Actually, he usually covers his entire head and then I come when he's asleep and pull it off his mouth and nose. It's crocheted loosely, so he can breath through it, but it makes me nervous. We think in the next month we're going to take the crib out of the room. We'll move it back in after the baby is a few months old and then poor Josh will have to go through all the changes of having a new roommate. His life is sure going to do a 180 in five months.

Don't worry too much about all the transitions, kids are really resilient. We were just like you (minus the binkie addiction), we moved Van into a toddler bed, then he got a roommate several months later. Actually, we had the baby sleep in our room for several months in a bassinet. Van did really well with everything. I think having Van out of the crib for several months helped him not have issues with the baby sleeping in "his" bed. Good luck you guys, I know it will be fine.
Good idea to take the crib out of the room (out of sight out of mind).
Holy smokes! I'm impressed you're even doing that transition. My plan is to wait as long as possible before moving James out of his crib. Those sleepy pictures of little Josh are priceless! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, I couldn't sleep like that! LOL! Pretty adorable.
We've kept the crib in the room and talked to Claire about who is going to use it. She seems to do pretty well. She only uses it as a climbing/hiding device anymore. Good luck!
addy and taye did awesome rooming together. there was literally 1 rough night of transition, then it was smooth. and she was only 18 moths old when taye was born(and since i dont let my babies in my room, she went in right away). it will be just fine!
