The Hunt

(Please indulge me and imagine this gripping tale being narrated by the wonderful voice of Sir David Attenborough. Because that is how I hear it in my head. Thank you.)

We shall now join our intrepid photographer as she begins that most rare and exciting adventure: the toddler photo shoot. After almost an entire summer of not being able to document her subject due to his increased speed, the photographer is determined to get a good picture to commemorate his two year birthday. Knowing her prey to be cunning as well as fast, she first tries to gain the attention of the child.

Apparently he has other things on his mind, or finger as the case may be.

Undaunted, the photographer finally is able to get the toddler to look in the direction of the camera.

Unfortunately, the subject is totally unimpressed.

Pressing on, the heroic photographer tries to again capture the attention of the easily-distracted child.

After the theft of her equipment, the photographer decides to just get whatever shots she can that don't include the back of his head as the toddler proves that he is way past the "toddling" phase.

The results are less than desirable.

Finally, both photographer and subject come to a mutual agreement on their feelings for further photographic endeavors:

Only one photograph comes through with the elusive smile. Blurred and slightly off-kilter, it has the terrible effect of seducing the photographer into thinking that it might just be possible to get a smiling picture of the subject. But that photo, my friends, will have to be chased down anther day.

You have done a fantastic job of capturing the ever moods of a 2 year old. Love the dialoge along the way and the cute smile at the end.
