Friday Info and Lauren's Life

Here is the scoop for Friday: Josh's bilirubin levels are back up again, so he's back on phototherapy. This morning he had an awesome feed, but then didn't take anything this afternoon. Such is the life of preemies... He didn't loose weight from yesterday, but didn't gain any either. Josh still has a tube down his nose. The bruising on his head isn't very noticeable anymore and it's nice and round. Josh is such a sweet and mellow little guy. All the nurses and lab techs say that he doesn't mind any procedures and his biggest protests comes when we wipe him during a diaper change. His room is also right next to the main entrance, so there is actually a substantial amount of noise and traffic. We can talk with regular voices and move stuff and he just sleeps right on through. I think this will serve us well when he comes home!

Some of you have been asking what I've been doing, so here's what a typical day is:

Alarm goes off at 7:45am to get up and go to the hospital. It takes 15-20 minutes to drive there. We leave around 8:20 to be in time for the 9am feeding.
Feed Josh at 9am, Noon, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm. The whole process (diaper change, weighing, feeding, pumping) takes 45min. Inbetween feeds I usually stay at the hospital. (Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us use the Jeep!)
Get home around 10:30pm, get some stuff done around the house, get the bag and food ready for the next day and go to bed around 11pm.
Get up and pump at Midnight, 3am and 6am which takes about half an hour. Get up again at 7:45.
David is on a similar schedule, with the exception of going to class during the day and sleeping more at night. He's doing most of the errand running and often does homework in the hospital room with us since he wants to be here as much as possible. It's a lot easier when David is here because he does a lot of the work so that I can just relax and feed the baby. David is a super husband and daddy!

Wow, Lauren, it sounds exhausting -but I'm glad that you've had some good feedings in there, though. We will keep you guys in our prayers. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help.
